I just blocked a self-professed "social media marketing expert" whose Google Profile said his superpower was "looking into the future."

You'd think he would have seen the block coming...

I really hope this doesn't go through. The hills above Ventura are one of its best features. What's wrong with keeping something in its natural state for future generations to enjoy?

Bargain alert: if you have a need or desire for Celtic or Eastern Christian jewelry, there is a very nice sale going on at gallerybyzantium.com. I have reason to believe my wife is getting me something very cool from them. :)

(I am not affiliated with them, and this is not an advertisement.)

According to the New York Times, right now it's warmer and nicer in New York City than it is here. So much for the opening line of "I Love L.A."

Just muted a post in Buzz and it disappeared instantly, no fade-out or confirmatory dialog box but with a link to undo. This is a good thing.

If you think your boss is bad, just be glad you don't work for this guy...another sterling example of journalistic excellence from the people who are running the Los Angeles Times into the ground.

For some reason, Buzz isn't letting me comment on Jared's post, so I'll put this here: if you'd like an alternative to asking Google for an invitation to Wave, I'll be happy to share one with you. It may not be any faster--Google moves at their own pace--but if you go to wave-invite.larryanderson.org and fill out the form, I'll be happy to give you one of the 22 invites I have left. First come, first served.

Be aware that Google extends the actual invitation, and I'm just sort of asking them on your behalf. It may take a while. Leave me your Twitter/Jaiku/Identi.ca/Buzz URL, and I'll send you an @-reply to let you know I did my part.

The mail today brought the latest edition of my local Congressman's "Jobs and Security Update." There's a form on the back that includes a question about whether I find it "useful." Useful, yes. But you don't want to know what I find it useful for, Congressman.

I'd say the office this morning is like a sauna, but there's a pronounced lack of wooden benches and birch branches. My Swedish forebears would be scandalized.

Amazed by how difficult it is to find a simple icon of Lazarus. Not the raising of Lazarus, just St. Lazarus himself. Have only found one online and I'm not overly fond of the style.

Recap of the day: did 4 loads of laundry, went to the cleaners, picked up coffee at Starbucks for the week, picked up a few things at the supermarket, did medical stuff in the afternoon, organized papers for weekend appointment with tax preparer, fixed dinner, did dishes. Days off work are exhausting.
